Brief Description: Aft fuselage skin rivets – Part 2
With Bob inside the tunnel with the bucking bar and me outside with the rivet gun we commenced to drive the rest of the turtle deck rivets. Bob and I got into a really good rhythm and just kept riveting until we looked up and it was done. I am guessing there were 275 total rivets in that turtle deck and we drove 274 without a mess up. I did have one messed up rivet – which I drilled out and replaced so that was a pretty great ratio. Some of the aft-most rivets we drove from the outside reaching in as it gets fairly skinny back there. A good bit of visual progress made today. The only ”oops” was not blowing string thru the conduit before sealing up the turtle deck. Oh well.
