I was able to rivet some of the cockpit side rail rivets with the longeron yoke on the squeezer...after those, I would like to research the best way to drive the other rivets - as there is a bend and crease in the side rails.
I did some reseach and it looked like the ones I could find just used the flush (mushroom) head and bucking bar. So that's what I did - I had a few extra minutes, so I went out and drove a few. It went quick as I just made sure that the tungsten bar was flush againt the side of the longeron to match the angle and also made sure that the mushroom head was at the proper offset angle too. I drilled out 3, but the left side rail is done now.
Now it's time to go celebrate our Independence!!!
aft portion of both cockpit rails done
see how the outer edge angles in - that's where my arm will go as I am taxiing up, canopy back :)
