Since the firewall came in the mail - It was time for the re-do. I won't bore you with all of the same pictures but here is a run down of the re-do process :
8-1 - Debur the firewall edges with the small scotchbrite wheel in the electric drill 8-2 - Final drill the firewall rivet holes to #40 and #30, debur the drilled holes 8-2 - Make the 8 degree bend in the firewall 8-2 - dimple the firewall to 1/8" and 3/32"
As the firewall is backriveted - I intially thought it a good idea to tape in all of the rivets and start backriveting. However, I didn't like the loose-ness of the parts so I pulled out some rivets and used clecos to shore up the parts to rivet them - this is the plans version so - when all else fails, read the plans - haha.
8-2 - I did some riveting on the firewall - but I have a lot left to do.
It doesn't feel right to log this time - again...but It is necessary to complete the airplane! Also - This session puts me over the 700 hour mark!
