I had a bit of time tonight so I went out to the shop and started playing around with coat hangers… I bent a coat hanger as a mock-up of the fuel sender float/wire and started off with the dimensions on the plans, (“approximately 3” ) for the length between the right angle bend. This didn’t work too great because it was hitting on the top and too short on the bottom of the tank. I made two more coat hanger mock-ups before I liked the travel – and ended up with about 3.6” on one length and 3.3” on the other. I was all set to call it a day after taking the picture and then I decided – “why not just bend the real float wire and get ‘er done?” So that’s what I did…I bent the real deal and the cut it to fit, deburred the cut end, and “installed” it! Cool!
