I took a trip down to Angleton to see a pilot many consider the best tail-wheel instructor, Bruce Bohannon. I needed a flight review, and I figured while taking instruction I needed to get re-trained-up on tail-wheel operations and who better to take from than the best.
I spent almost 24 hours in Angleton, spread over a Saturday and Sunday, and learned a ton. After it was all said and done, I had my flight review signed off, performed two dozen landings in the Legend Cub, and got to fly the RV-8! Wow! What an airplane! I have only sat in one, so after building an RV-8 for over ten years, I ought to fly one. To confirm, I DID make the right choice building the RV-8. What an airplane! Did I say that already?
I wholeheartedly recommend Bruce to anyone who wants to improve their tail-wheel or RV-8 skills!
