Tonight I skipped ahead to the Elevators - as I am waiting for the rudder brace to arrive. Very much the same process as the rudder stiffeners....take the long angle with the prepunched holes and cut the individual stiffeners...then trim the taper down so that the trailing edge does not contact the stiffeners. Then file the edges, and smooth the corners/edges.
The plans say that I have to make a J,K,L stiffener, but that must be an older version of the plans/prints...because they all line up without having to trim any extra parts off of the J,K,L stiffeners. There are 29 stiffeners for both the left and right elevators - and I was able to match them up to the plans...so good deal. Next I will cleco them to the elevator skins and match drill them...
