Brief Description:  Trimmed right Canopy Rail

The canopy rail is relieved of the lower portion (in the front) because it sits up on the base of the canopy bow. This makes for a smooth transition for the roller to slide on. I was thinking I would cut this with the band saw, but it worked out better to just clamp it in the vise and use the hack saw. The aft part of the canopy rail, which sits on the cockpit rail, tapers down (it gets narrow) so that the canopy rail needs to be tapered also. I marked and then cut to the taper – and then cut some more to sneak up on it and not over-cut…as I have been known to do that before. I used the dremel tool for this cut and it seemed to work well. Still waiting on my left canopy rail to ship from Van’s…
