While waiting for the relays to arrive, I decided that I would use the relay sockets for the four trim servo relays. With the relays under the pilot seat, the initial wiring will be more difficult, but the trade-off is that the connections will be much better protected. Since I had four sockets that came with some auto relays I had, I would remove the automotive wire and replace it with aviation-grade wiring, and this would also mean there would not be a splice in the wires. So, step one was removing the old connectors and wires, which was easily accomplished using a small flathead jeweler's screwdriver.
