With the new lines on the wheel pants, I now can move on to clecoing the front/aft halves together. The drawing shows the cleco spacing, which will eventually be screw/nutplate spacing, but first, I need to open up the tire opening, so I have a better idea where the bottom edges of the wheel pant will be. That took a little figuring and measuring, and I intentionally left the opening small as I will still need to align the wheel pant on the wheel. With a larger wheel opening, it was on to measuring, marking, and drilling. But... the drawing shows a 1/8" spacing between the edge of the pant and the hole, which seems too close. A quick text to VA tech support confirmed that I should center the hole on the flange, so that is what I did. Further review of the drawing shows the holes centered on the flange, even though the dimension is wrong.
