Brief Description: Wire pulls
I pulled some more of the wiring harness wires thru the conduit and nearer to their final location, which cleaned up the back-panel area a bit. I started using what I will call the "long-string" method to pull the wires thru the conduit. I am sure someone else has already thought of this, but instead of a fish wire, or one string in the conduit, I have a string in each conduit run that is twice the length of the conduit. That way, when I pull a wire (or set of wires) thru the conduit, I still have enough string left inside the conduit to pull it back and run another wire. I started putting a length of fishing line in each conduit, but when I pulled a wire thru, I was just switching the fishing line for the wire, and then I had to run another line for the next wire — this way the string can be re-used without having to feed another string thru the conduit.
I also stagger-cut all of the orange dimmer wire ends, and then shrink-wrapped them together for storage. I plan to use Garmins auto-dim function for the box lighting. If that doesn't work, I can always install a common dimmer to control the Garmin boxes. I know a dimmer would be superior to the auto-dim function, but that's the plan for now.
