Brief Description: Cradle support prepping and priming
The cradle is now complete, and I would like to drill and rivet the frame to the floor. But before I rivet it all together, I would like to prime it, and before priming, I would like to have all the holes drilled for the battery attach points. The GEA 24 / GAD29 will be attached and supported by an additional angle so I can wait on those holes.
I drilled the frame holes to the floor and then countersunk the rivet holes so that the rivets would be smooth on the floor surface. Next, I measured where I wanted to place the battery and decided to tie in the attach point to the angle, for better support. All those holes were countersunk too.
I also drilled out the support pillars to accept the #8 screw on both the pillar and the fuselage supports. Then on the cradle pillars, I drill and countersunk for the nutplate attach points, then all the parts got a good scrubbing with the scotch brite pad and then a good cleaning before finally being hit with a thin coat of primer.
Sorry, I forgot to take any intermediate pictures...
