Brief Description:  Standoffs, nutplates

Rob is training this morning so it's back to work in the shop solo. Since the cabin heat valve cable standoff primer was now dry I decided to put rivet them in place and quickly had the first one installed. As my brain usually does, it has a great idea just after the exact best time would have been to have that idea, but better late than never. Looking at the standoff location and thinking about the maintenance aspect of having to get a wrench behind the standoff if that adel clamp needed to be loosened or tightened, I thought it would be a great idea to install nutplates behind the standoff.

So I drill out the freshly pulled rivets and went about installing nutplates. The one standoff was large enough to accept the nutplate but the other one was a little small. So, I cut an deburred another angle and drilled the holes. ...and then my brain remembered that Bob had sent some smaller nutplates that would have fit perfectly on the smaller standoff. Oh well, now that I have the larger standoff, I will save the specialty nutplates.
