Brief Description: Wing Tip #8 - Aft tip gap / fit
I spent a large portion of the shop time reworking the right top P4 forward tip. Seems I did not allow enough of a gap at the front side and the P4 hinge is interfering with the tip flange upon insertion of the wingtip. To rectify this situation, I used the Dremel tool to cut back the hinge a bit, but had to be careful as the hinge is already installed and I did not want to damage the leading edge.
After that, I cut a small amount from the aft top/bottom of the left wing tip in order to be able to install it and get a good measurement of how much to take off. I did the install, the final measurement and the cutting and smoothing before reinstalling and checking the gap... a quarter inch as is specified. The trailing edge of the left tip is in alignment with the aileron but is too long - same as the right tip.
