Brief Description: Wiring the 700-10-2 DPDT switch
Tonight the plan is to work on the wiring to make the OFF-RED-WHITE lighting work with the DPDT (Double Pole-Double Throw) switch. I followed along with the representation in Bob Nuckolls Aero Electric book and got the switching to work as I wanted.
With the switch in the down position, there is no power to either light and the battery will not be drained. Flipping the switch up one position turns on the RED light which is important to first have the red light come on first and not light up the cockpit with the white light. Flipping the switch up one more position turns the red light off and the WHITE light on.
The good news is, I got the switch to work as I wanted it to, the bad news is, when I try to add in the rheostat (dimmer) things are not going so well... I will need to work this out.
