Brief Description: Elevator drilling and deburring
Tonight I did some more research on the bending of the rudder trailing edge and I am planning on putting the brake together tomorrow...so tonight I did some more elevator work. I clecoed the stiffeners on both the left and right elevators and matched drilled them. I was also able to remove the vinyl on the right elevator and debur the holes on the skin and the stiffeners - the left side will have to wait as I am hoping I will get back to the rudder tomorrow.
It was the first post-Christmas build session so I was able to use my new super cool coveralls!! I look like a real airplane mechanic now - even if I don't have the knowledge base yet..but I am getting there. My brand new, shiny clean coveralls are a metaphor for my build..new coveralls, new mechanic... I might go hang out at the tire shop tomorrow - I haven't yet decided.
I also recieved a shop heater so with the drop in temperature and the "White Christmas" we had in Dallas this year - it was handy dandy to have it tonight...outside temp 27, inside shop temp 55. It sounds cold, but was really very comfortable.
right elevator and stiffners drilled and deburred
left elevator drilled...and on deck.
pretty cool logo on the back - pretty well sums it up don't you think!
