Removed cadmium plating from the rod ends with muriatic acid. Dried and wiped down with acetone prior to welding them on. Welding went ok, not the prettiest welds but functional. Had several small arc strikes along the tubes where they found ground during welding. Filed those off carefullly. Cleaned up some of the larger weld lumps with the belt sander. Wiped them completely with 3in1 oil to keep rust at bay until they are powder coated.
