Brief Description:  Wiring Tunnel and Optional Harnesses

Main job today was routing the Tunnel Harness and starting on the Optional Harness. The Tunnel Harness goes in OK, but the plans omit to mention 3 wires around the fuel flow transducer that are actually for a 9-pin D-sub that is used to hook up a laptop to the Dynon.

I managed to forget this and added terminals to these, thinking they were for the fuel transducer. I had to chop the terminals off, so I'll need to reorder some. Picture 1 shows the transducer hooked up with the correct three wires.

Connecting up the fuel pump (no picture) was a bit of an issue as you have to remove the bolt that is underneath the fuel return line to add an Adel Clamp and an earth strap. I had to gently bend the pipe out of the way to get a socket in there. I'm using an AVO meter to check wherever possible as paint can prevent the earth connections grounding correctly.

I skipped the wing pin electrics today as I still have to install replacement Pin Latches. So onto the Optional Harness. Lots of routing under the seats, left and right. Note most but not all the wires that need to be made up are 18 gauge, but Page 31-06 Step 5 is 22 gauge. I missed this, and ran out of 18 gauge later. I had to rob some from the tail kit, so no doubt will need to order some more.

Picture 2 is the forward hole in the panel shelf - getting busy, but I cannot use the aft hole as it gets covered by the Mode S transponder.
