Brief Description: Complete prep work on forward fuselage parts
Picture 1 shows the half-dozen parts that make up the Battery Box and the Oil Tank receptacle. I trial fitted this to the firewall, and of course it, too, fitted perfectly.
Picture 2 (again crappy focussing) shows the Cover Plate and "Clip" that I had to fabricate. This fits somewhere near the top centre of the Forward Fuselage Skin, just ahead of the firewall. I haven't yet figured out what it is for! *Subsequent Note: It retains two piano hinges that hold the top cowl in place.*
Having completed preparation of a bunch of parts, it was too late (and too cold) to start priming them, so I fished out a replacement part that was sitting in my to-do pile. This was the Cooler Stiffener (P 22-02) that I originally messed up.
Picture 3 shows this now riveted to the lower firewall. I even managed to screw-up attaching this, a second time around. I pulled a rivet in the top hole without realising that the rivet had pushed the bracket away from the firewall. The fun part was trying to drill out the rivet without opening the garage door. I only have a few inches space between the firewall and the garage door. More rearrangement is going to be required soon - possibly resulting in scrapping of my big paint booth.
