Brief Description: More prep for forward fuselage parts
Today I completed the prep work on the forward fuselage parts, apart from the three instrument panel panels (if you see what I mean).
Picture 1 (crappy focus) shows the Firewall Upper on the bench with Upper Forward Fuselage Doubler clecoed, together with the Antenna Shelf.
Picture 2 shows a trial fit of the Panel Base after match drilling into the longerons. The port side was a perfect fit. The starboard side was maybe 1/16 inch off at the rear, due I guess to imperfect bending of the longeron. This is the only part that hasn't fitted perfectly, and that was my workmanship, not Vans. The imperfection didn't justify unrivetting everything and attempting to rebend the longeron. So I just filed down and final ground the starboard edge of the Panel Base.
Picture 3 shows the forward side of the Firewall Upper. You can see where I have clecoed the Panel Base.
