I nipped back to Section 23 to complete an outstanding piece of work. Cowl hinges need to be installed with some spacer underneath to bring them up to the correct level. The plans call for two 10-inch spacers, which are cut from a 24 inch piece which has also been used for an earlier piece of work in the same area (Page 22-02 Step 10). Vans only supplied just enough material. I remade a part in this earlier step, so I only had 19 inches left to make the two parts. Fortunately, it's only spacer so is non-critical in appearance. I managed to find some scrap of the same thickness to make up the shortfall.
