Brief Description:  Plumbing of brake lines

Having recovered my composure from yesterday, I though I might as well complete the work on the rudder pedals, and just put the unit away until the replacement parts arrive. I installed the two "forgotten" brake master cylinders and installed the brake lines to these. Other folk had reported difficulty with installing the little sleeves that go inside the pipe. Having taken advice from a web poster, I used rubber gloves, heated the tube in a kettle for a minute or so, and the inserts could be pressed home quite easily. One confusing thing is Figure 2 on Page 27-04. There are two sets of brass elbows, 45 degree ones and 90 degree ones. The picture called for three 90 degree elbows on the left pedals and just two on the right pedals. I thought it was a mistake and used two on each side. Somewhere else, I'm going to have to install a 90 degree elbow where a 45 degree one is called out. Seems to me they are interchangeable. I cannot readily fix the problem without shortening the brake line and possibly ordering another part, because I don't think it will be easy to dig out the insert from the pipe.

The final piece of work was to install brake pipes that go from the left pedals back to where the wheels will be mounted. The fittings at the end have to be mounted in-situ after passing through the various bulkheads.
