Brief Description:  Prepare seat parts

First step today was to complete the assembly of the rudder bars. In my enthusiasm, I rushed up to the garage, picked up the drill and the Boelube and got stuck in. In no time, I had drilled the holes in the second set of brake pedals. And then the truth dawned - I had forgotten to install the brake master cylinders beforehand, so had drilled two random holes instead of two holes aligned to the "neutral" position. Of course the holes were in the wrong place! Lesson learned - don't quit in the middle of a task. New parts are going to cost me the best part of £100 :-(

I spent all day cursing myself, so needed something different to work on. Section 26 is preparation and assembly of the seats. This seemed a suitably different piece of work.

Much of the preparation is related to cutting and trimming various bits of hinge. There are two sizes of hinge material with fancy part numbers in the inventory. The hinges themeselves are marked with P2 or P3 to differentiate. These hinges provide for two different mounting positions for the seats.

Picture 1 shows a seat back trial-assembled with the various frames used for bracing. Picture 2 shows where the seat back is attached to the fuselage. I couldn't resist digging out the seat cushions to see how they look, Picture 3, - I did however resist ripping off the plastic covers!
