Having got as far as I could with pipework, I studied Section 27, which is predominantly just assembly of the rudder bars and pedals.
Much of the time was consumed just fishing out the parts that had been "filed" in varous locations in the garage. Assembly was rather straightforward until it came to the P27-03 step 1, where you have to drill increasing-sized holes through brake pedals and their torque tubes. The air drill kept "stalling" as the drill bit got stuck. I changed to a hand-held battery drill which was better but still got stuck. Lots of Boelube is probably the answer. After successfully doing one set of pedals I was summoned for tea. I was happy enough to quit at this stage after a long day's work, even though not everything thing worked out - as it was somewhat expected.
