Brief Description: Trial fit fuselage superstructure
Picture 1 shows the longerons match drilled to the Canopy Decks which formed the templates for the bend. There's a final 4 degree bend inboard at the tail end, with a tapered piece trimmed off for weight saving. I wasn't going to bother but did so in the end. Same method, hefty blows with a rubber mallet.
I had previously prepared all of the bits and pieces that make up the vertical supports, and the arm rests etc. So I clecoed everything together - Picture 2. I was well pleased with the result. The only problem with the longerons was both of them drooped at the aft end, where I had bent them inboard.
Having made good progress with the clecoes I was on a roll, so decided to rivet the forward fuselage assembly to the rest of the fuselage - Picture 3. Surprisingly this went rather well, and I had no real difficulty inserting the rivets.
