Brief Description:  Wiring the stall warner

Another first, crimping terminals onto bits of wire. Easy when you know how. But I didn't. Fortunately a bit of surfing found this article that explains what the inside of the terminals looks like.

I did have a ratchet crimper that makes double crimps, one on the bare wire and one on the insulation. I had half expected the crimp on the insulation to be less severe (given the larger diameter). It wasn't, so I don't know how secure the electrical connection is. Certainly the mechanical connection is sound. And a AVO meter confirmed that I was getting an electrical signal, so maybe I should stop worrying and press on.

Picture 1 shows my first attempts. These are earth straps.

Picture 2 shows the stall warner unit mounted on the required rib, which had previously been prepared with a couple of nutplates.

Pictuer 3 shows the unit wired up. The wiring goes through snap bushings in each rib to the wiring terminal on the rib root. I still have to attach this. I discovered I am missing a nut, so this will need to wait a while.
