Brief Description: Complete assembly of port wing skeleton
As predicted yesterday, it became increasingly difficult to add ribs as I moved inboard. There's no space to wield pliers (to push tight-fitting rivets), or to pull the rivets (either with the air gun or manually).
I found it a bit easier twisting a #30 drill manually in the holes prior to insertion of rivets.
Picture 1 shows the 4 ribs that make up the walkway. Only 3-4 inches between.
Picture 2 is a close-up of the second rib. It's the only one where the flanges face outboard - not a mistake (well not mine anyway). These ribs are attached to a rib attach angle (rivets left to right or vice-versa), and to the spar (rivets front to back). That's 10 tricky rivets per rib. Some of my priming will need to be touched up following a fight with the manual riveter.
Picture 3 shows all the ribs done on the port wing.
