Brief Description: Finish prep of top tailcone skin
The Vans web site identified an error in the parts (not covered in the plans), where seven holes have been drilled in the top skin, but only five in the underlying bracket. So I match-drilled these.
Two final actions were to rivet a J-stiffener to the top skin, and rivet the previously-prepared Forward Skin Rib.
I forgot that prior to doing the latter I would have to prime a small patch of outside surface the top skin - where this panel is attached. So this will have to be deferred to another time. In any case, I cannot rivet the top skin until the tailcone has ben inspected.
Apart from this, the remaining empennage activities mostly relate to assembly, so I propose to set all of this aside for the time being, as I don't have space to keep the assembled tail in the garage.
