After riveting the two bottom skins together the next step was to rivet the bottom skins to the frames.
The final riveting step was to permanently join the lower left and right skins to the bottom skins so that all four skins are riveted together and either riveted or clecoed to the frames. Clecos are still in place as I believe there is more work to be done here. Best part of 350 rivets and lots of yellow gunge consumed. Unfortunately this hardly seems to have made a dent in the box of 12,000 rivets, so a few more to go then...
Final task for the day was to sweep the garage floor. The steel rivet mandrels are just perfect for popping car tyres! Some folk use a magnet to pick 'em up. I try not to drop them, then sweep up just in case...
