Brief Description: Different sanding
|
|
After the "usual" canopy fairing work (it's getting better) I started prep work on the fibreglass tail fairing. As per the VAF website, the standard operating procedure for fibreglass is:
Wash, dry, wipe with acetone, sand, wash, dry, wipe with acetone, squeegee epoxy, then go back to sanding again, for multiple cycles until you have filled "enough" pinholes.
I did the squeegee bit but did not think to finally brush smooth the excess epoxy. So I ended up with epoxy "runs" that will be a nightmare to sand flat.
Finished off the day with a few more rivet heads filled with Superfil.
