Back from Panama, working on the plane again is good. Now time for the big push to finish this year. I first removed the bottom cowl, and attached the new fuel return line to the firewall. I had to remove the supply line next to it, to access the return line. Then I attached the air filter again, after my mod to secure the hardware inside the filter, so that no loose nuts or such get sucked into the engine. That would suck. There have been reports of this close to happening over time. Then I cut off the front portion of the baffle, around the prop hub, that was interfering with the cowl slightly. Last, I relocated the fire extinguisher, because of the new interior panels that go in the baggage compartment, my original location wouldn't work. So I attached the extinguisher bracket to the interior side panel, and also attached with a platenut to the interior flap hardware cover. It's secure now, and looks good, and most importantly, easily accessed if I need it. I also ran the static line to the front, by using one of the headset jack holes. I'm going to have to re think my headset jack location, since the interior side panel will prevent access to the plugs, and thats something I will need to be able to get to in flight. Have to think about that. I also put the left side baggage interior panel in place with the velcro attach strips, supplied by the interior company, Classic Aero. I'm still not sure how the arm rest panels get attached to the plane, so I fired off an email asking that particular question. Hopefully, in the next few weeks, I'll get my panel, and by the end of November, be moving to the airport. We'll see.
