Brief Description:  Safety Wiring

Torqued the bolts and safety wired the alternator. Also, ran and connected a back up alternator field wire, as suggested by B&C. Then I torqued and safety wired the prop bolts. Then I attached the passenger seat belts, and adjusted the crotch strap for both sides. Not very easily adjusted, so passengers will have to compromise. Basically, it is just to keep you from submarineing under the panel in the event of a crash landing. Too tight is no good, but too loose and the shoulder harness pulls the belt buckle too high up for comfort. Then I riveted on the data plate. This was my second one, as the first one which I had engraved at a local trophy shop, the letters were hard to read. I guess stainless steel is tough to engrave. Anyway, got another one from aircraft engravers and it looks better. Used solid rivets since I had access. Dimpled both the plate and the skin. Finally, I started in on the gear leg fairings. I cut out the template and marked it on one of the fairings. Then I went and shoveled mulch around. Then I jumped in the pool. Now I'm going to take a nap, because tonight at midnight, is the premier of Harry Potters final movie, and my daughter is having some friends over for her birthday party and I'm the driver.
