Brief Description:  Fiberglass Tips

Installed the top of the Rudder, and did everything but rivet the lower fiberglass tip of the rudder. Finished installing the tail light, by using some large rivets for the baffles, and drilling them and tapping them to #40 to fit the supplied screws. It seems secure enough. Started on the tip of the Vertical stab, by first drilling to fit, and then putting foam with a layer of fiberglass to close up the end. After it cures, I'll reinforce it from the back side and sand it smooth. Also installed the ELT antenna, in the tail, and ran the cable from the ELT to the antenna. I didn't crimp on the BNC connector, because I have to change crimp heads to do that, so I might as well do all the BNC connectors at the same time.... after my panel comes. I located my ELT antenna horizontal, mounted to one of the bulkheads. Probalby not the best location, but there is a pretty good chance that if I need the ELT, I could be in any orientation, maybe even nose down and therefore, antenna up. Unlikely to be tail down, but who knows. I plan on flying with a Personal Locator Beacon anyway, which will have better range and reliability. On the three crashes we had at the Academy, none of the ELT's worked. So, its a requirement to have one, but no required placement of the antenna, so I wasn't going to waste drag on it.
