Brief Description:  Cables

Attached the hardware to secure the throttle and mixture cables. I re-made the mixture cable bracket, to make it have better clearance from the engine mount. Also, I attached them with AN-3 bolts, vs. rivets, for better strength. It's the throttle cable, after all. Fairly important. Then I cut off the excess fiberglass from the balloon foam mold on the snorkle, came out real nice. I still have to trim the back side, so I can attach baffleing material, but my dremmel ran out of juice. I then ran the cables for the FAB bypass, and the fuel purge, and drilled holes in my temporary panel, just to see how they'll fit. I temporarily secured the purge cable on top. I also temporarily secured the bypass cable to the engine mount in the approximate location where it will end up. After I get my panel, I'll have to remove these cables, because they have to be run from the panel forward, due to the handles. I also need to get a few grommets to fill the holes. For now, I'm going to run the bypass cable through the sensor wire pass through, since there is plenty of room. I also played around with the center console, and tried to see how I was going to attach the control cables to that. It looks like my cables are the right length, but attaching all the hardware, including the cotter pins on the three controls is going to be fun. I can't really do that until I have the wings on, and can install the seat pans, which have to be off to get the wing bolts in. So, I'll be saving further work on the controls in the quadrant for another day. I can, however, mount the adel clamps that will hold the cables in alignment with the quadrant. Last, I put on one of my N number decals, now that my airplane is officially registered.
