Brief Description:  Lower Cowl

Trimmed the top cowl slightly, and maybe too much. Might have to go back and fill it a few spots where I trimmed too far from the firewall edge. Then I cut out the slot for the nose gear leg in the lower cowl, and cleaned up the flanges and edges where the top and bottom cowl overlap. Satisfied with the front fit, I put the lower cowl on, and used some straps to hold it in position while I adjusted the front and clamped them in position. I drilled a few holes in the top hinge for the top cowl to help hold everything steady. Too bad they picked pink for the color of fiberglass. Totally unfair to put that pink cowl on this plane. Later, I went back and trimmed the lower cowl, starting with the bottom, and then the sides. I finally drilled the holes near the spinner, and then drilled the hinges to the bottom and sides of the lower cowl. Now I just have to trim the sides of the lower cowl to match the upper cowl, and then drill for the side hinges.
