Brief Description: A/P push rod, Strobe Power, Top Antenna
|
|
Fabricated and installed the Autopilot pitch push rod, and attached to the bellcrank. At first, I was confused trying to get the full travel of the elevator bell crank and the servo, but then I figured out you only need full travel of the elevator, within the limits of the servo, so that the servo can't limit the elevator travel. Then I attached the strobe power pack on the bracket I had installed earlier, and looked at the attachment wiring a little. Finally, I started in on the top antenna, fabricating a doubler that will attach to the top stringers, for additional support. I also fabricated a spacer that the platenuts will attach to. My son, Max, can fit in the access hole for the old battery placement, and he will be a big help in dimpling and riveting in this doubler plate. I asked him to come help me and all I had him do was see if he could get his small body in the hole, and reach the top of the airplane where the antenna will go. Awesome.
