Brief Description:  Skirt, Firwall Forward

Sanded the new skirt down, and added another layer of micro and resin. This one is coming out much better than my first. Surprize! While that was drying, I started in on the firwall penetrations. I mapped out my plan on the firewall, using drawing 19 as a guide for the fuel injected throttle, mixture and prop cables, nose wheel access hole and the cabin heater hole. I've yet to drill those, but I've measured them out and marked them. Then I figured out my plan of attack for my main battery cable, coming through the firewall. I installed a doubler for the pass through, and also used the same doubler for the ANL fuse holder. I started on the doubler for the starter contactor, but was going to just use AN-4 bolts and nuts to attach it, starting thinking ahead and if I ever have to replace the starter contactor, it would be a bunch easier if I didn't have to hold a wrench on both sides of the firewall to do it, so I ordered up some 1000-4 nutplates. I also ordered the bolts to go with... Then I ordered the fuel pump and bracket, I'm going to use the Weldon pump because it's all self contained, the low pressure bypass, etc. I got the fuel filter from AFP already. While I was in the ordering mood, I ordered the remainder of my finish kit from Vans, and the firewall forward kit, minus a few items I already had. So, my engine mount will be here in a month or so, so I need to get busy prepping the firewall for that, in order to hang my engine when it comes for Christmas. Still need to order the prop (MT) and the exhaust from Vetterman's. But, I'm out of money. Been that way for a while actually... But, the Subaru sold, so I get a little money back from that. Best not to think about that too much.
