Nice hot day to cut the canopy, so I trimmed around the sides and back, and then carefully drilled the hole for the latch. Next, I carefully drew a line for the big cut, and made the big cut, and successfully parted the canopy into two sections. Next, I took the smaller windshield section inside the garage to smooth the edges, when I heard a loud crashing noise and cracking noise from outside near my workbench. I knew immediately the large section had fallen off, but was hoping for just some light scratches. Nope. The canopy had broken off a large section of one aft corner and was completely unusable. I closed the shop for the day.
