Brief Description:  Engine Hanging Prep

Figured out that a bracket needed to be attached to the prop govenor, and thought it went under it, so I removed the four bolts that I had such a hard time getting on, and removed the govenor, then I figured out that the bracket goes on top of the govenor, and I didn't need to remove it after all. Oh well. Had to remove the screws and reposition the actuating arm of the govenor, and then installed the bracket. Then I had to torque down the screws and safety wire them tight. Then I installed the oil lines that go to and from the oil cooler, because after the engine goes on, access will be tight. I also installed the tach drive cover, since I won't be using a mechanical tachometer. I also safety wired that. Then I attached the hardware that attaches the prop govenor cable, and had a hard time getting that on. The plans call for the bolt to be attached front to rear, but the arm of the govenor won't allow that, so I had to reverse the bolt, and put some washers in there for spacers so that the nut would clear the screws on the govenor. Then I filled in some holes in the firewall. Finally, I drilled the firewall cable pass through for the prop govenor, just slightly too big, so that a wrap of electrical silicone tape will make it fit snug. Then I drilled the hole for the pass through, according to vans plans, now that I see that that location will work. I still don't know about the throttle cable or the mixture cable yet, so I haven't drilled those holes. Using the uni-bit on those holes is great and makes fast work of it.
