Riveted in the doubler for the battery bracket, then the platenuts. Then I put the door on, and made small adjustments to the edges of the door to get it to fit better. I'm really happy with it. Thanks to Allen Fullmer for the idea and example. Then I bolted in the battery bracket, after putting a few more rivets in the flat bar that runs along the bottom to the side angles that attach to the stringers, just for kicks. I counter sunk those so that the angle would sit flat on the stringer. Then, I drilled holes in the new wing nuts I bought so I can safety wire those after I install the batteries. I then drilled corresponding safety wire holes in the bracket top itself. Finally, I started in on the wiring. I was able to get some 5/8ths holes drilled in the bulkhead under the seats by using a combination 12 inch drill bit for the pilot holes, and then a uni-bit mounted on an extension. My extension didn't fit the unibit, so I had to ground down the shaft so it would fit. So, it basically took me an hour to drill two 5/8ths holes for the snap bushings I put in. I'll used those two for the fat wires from the batteries to the firewall and back for the ground. I still need a few more holes for wiring. If you are reading this, and you haven't riveted in your baggage floors yet - drill your wiring holes first! I had to drill mine using the hole in the baggage floor I cut out for the ELT mount. It was just barely big enough. I'll probably end up making a similiar door on the opposite side for more wiring. I'm going to need more of those snap bushings. Sigh, another order into Spruce.... seems like that is happening weekly. Thats it for now. I'm off to Florida for my wiring and electric seminar. Perfect timing, huh?
