Brief Description:  Battery Bracket

Got the spindle adjuster from Andair, and replaced it in the valve. Re-connected the spindle to the new u-joint and drilled holes for the roll pins. Decided to just use safety wire in the bottom collar to u-joint connection because 1) it's not going to come out even without the safety wire and 2) if I put a roll pin in, which would be tough anyway, it would be very difficult to take the console out of the airplane without taking at least one of the roll pins out. Anyway movement is very smooth now and the fuel selector to fuel valve connection is complete. Then I fabricated a dual battery bracket to go in the tail of the airplane. Due to the increased weight of the Subaru engine I'm putting up front, I have to help out the Center of Gravity by putting the batteries in the back. So, I copied another builder and built this battery mount. It was time intensive, but all came together nicely, except my Wingnuts were for AN bolts, and the long bolts I have are 1/4 inch threads. So, I'll have to pick up some next time I'm at Lowe's. I made the top bracket too, which will hold the batteries down. Next, I have to make an access door in the bottom of the plane for the batteries. Scary.
