Brief Description:  Vent Lines

Well, update on my gear mounts. I called Van's and Ken told me to upsize the bolts to AN-6 size or something in between. So, I removed the left gear mount I installed yesterday and I found a machine shop in town that said they could ream the holes to .374 or so, for the AN6 bolts I ordered from Spruce. Then, the next day after I dropped them off at their shop, they called to tell me they aren't allowed to work on aircraft parts. I don't think they caught the distinction of my airplane being EXPERIMENTAL. Oh well. I went today to pick up the mounts and legs and took them to another shop. I asked them if they could ream some holes to .375 in some steel tube "go cart" parts. They agreed and should be ready tomorrow. In the mean time, I removed the rudder cables, and re inserted some bushings the correct way so that I could get the smaller "mini-me" bushings inside the other bushings. That way, when the smaller ones wear out, I can simply replace those, instead of having to remove the rudder cables again and re insert the larger bushings. The smaller ones are cut on one side so they can simply slip over the rudder cable and snap into place into the larger ones. Then I installed the vent lines on both sides. The smaller !/4 inch tubing is nice and easy to work with, and I figure I'll work up in size to the return lines and then the supply lines. I cut off one end of the 1/4 inch unions at a 45 degree angle and will glue some screen on there to keep out the bugs as instructed. I also messed around with my new brake lines I got from Bonaco. Just to see how they fit together, in the big scheme of things.
