Brief Description:  Flap Motor

Finished installing the flap motor. Removed weldement, and installed platenuts to hold center weldement brace down. Reinstalled weldement, and bolted flap motor to weldement, and safety wired. Note to anyone behind me.... put the safety wire on outside the plane. I didn't read the instructions close enough and forgot about the safety wire until I had the very difficult flap motor to weldement washer and bolt already on. I wasn't about to take those off to put the safety wire on, but I almost had to. Finally I got the wire inserted, and luckily for me, the hole I previously drilled was exactly where I needed it to be, I didn't have to rotate it any. Got the wire in, pulled it through and used my safety wire pliers to give it the proper twist. Ran the motor up and down a few times and despite the slight offcenter of my hole drilling, causing a little resistance and side load, the motor turned without problem. I think the weldement is very tight, as it is in everyone elses plane, and that is way more resistance than my offcenter bolt holes. Anyway, installed the back brace, and drilled for platenuts. Installed the side covers and drilled for platenuts. Seemed like a lot of work, not much accomplished. I guess that's par for the course from now on. Oh well, it is still fun!
