Brief Description:  Tank leak tests

Today I wanted to check my fuel tanks for potential leaks. I had washed them washed out with soapy water andthen dried them for a couple of hors.I plugged all outlets with rubber hose and added a long piece of hose to the top fitting and filled the tanks all the way up with gasoline. I was pleased to see that all installed hydraulich connection did not show any signs of leakage. However, I noticed that a leak was present at the threaded insert which is molded into the top of the ank for tank mountng pursoses. The leak is quite significant. Next I leak checked the other bottom tank and this tank had the same leak at the top insert.I then proceeded to leak test the op tank. This tank did not show any leakage even after having it sit filled with gasoline for more than 24 hours.
The 2 bottom tanks need to be replaced and all the trim work is wased.Too bad. Trying to get some new leakfree tanks from Eagle R&D.
