Brief Description: Machining tank cover backing plates
Changed gears today and decided I would make the backing plates for the das tank covers. Cut he rough shape out of the provided sheet metal, drilled a 1/4' hole in the center, used a nut and bolt to mount it in my lathe chuck and turned the od. Next I held it on the outside OD and turned the ID to size.Done! I like little projects like this. I will drill the five holes together with the cover plates. and when I have the fuel sending unit, which supposdly does not have a 72 degree hole spacing.
