Brief Description:  Elevators - 07 - Drilled Elevator Horns

My 4" No Hole yoke came in so I put in the last couple of rivets in the trailing edge of the elevator ribs and the trim tab spar on the left elevator. There was still a few holes that the yoke was not able to squeeze so I put in a pop-rivet (MK-319-BS).

Took the elevators off the HS to re-adjust the rod end bearings. I backed them out 1/16" and re-attached to check fitment. That did the trick and they traveled through the entire range without rubbing.

I removed the right elevator and drilled the left elevator horn with a #40 drill bit. Removed the elevator and final drilled the hole to 1/4". Deburred the hole and needed to use a Royal Multi Deburring tool in the hole to open it up just a little more for the bolt.

Repeated the above steps on the right side and re-attached both elevators.

Got all the hardware out to bolt the horns together and quickly realized my fat fingers were not going to fit inbetween the horns and the hinge bearing. Called it a night and decided I needed to do some homework.
