Brief Description: Elevators - 08 - Installed Bolt in Elevator Horns
Put bolts in elevator hinges to check for binding after installing center hinge bolt.
Installed elevator horn bolt and washers. This looked like it was going to be very difficult but I checked VAF and got some good ideas. I tried the one where you use string and a pin punch. I had to do it twice to get the correct number of washers in between the horns and it worked great. Really easy (I created a rudimentary illustration to show how it works...please excuse the elementary drawing...it's not to scale or drawn in CAD).
Did some throws and there wasn't any binding. The Minimum Up and Down degree of travel was within specifications (IAW Van's 15-2).
