Brief Description:  Horizontal Stabilizer - 04 - Front HS Spar

FRONT HS SPAR:
- Finished putting radius on Front HS reinforcement angles (HS-710 & HS-714). Used belt sander to get close to line and then finished up with 6" Scotchbrite wheel in grinder. Sanded with 320 then 400 grit sand paper and then finished up with Scotchbrite hand pad.
- Put 6 degree bend on both reinforcement angles using bench vise, scrap blocks and a rubber mallet. I used an angle finder tool to check the angle as I bent the metal.
- Went back and put radius on Rear HS stiffeners (HS-609). I wasn't sure if I needed to do this or not (the directions didn't specifically say to) so I decided it couldn't hurt. Cleaned and polished parts.
- Notched Front HS spars (HS-702) and bent at a 6 degree angle.
- Countersunk and dimpled inside 4 holes of Forward spars and reinforcement angles.
- Notched Nose Ribs (HS-404) to clear HS-710 and HS-714. Rough cut the notch with straight cut metal snips then ground down to the final line with a grinder. Got final finish with Scotchbrite wheel, small files and sand paper.
- Deburred all holes in forward spar and channel sides.

LEFT HS SECTION:
- Assembled Left HS section (HS-603, 702, 706, 707 and 708). Connected Forward Spar to Rear Spar with Ribs.
- Drilled #30 holes in ribs (HS-706, 707 and the Forward part of 708).
- Disassembled unit, deburred holes and reassembled.
- Put on the Left HS section skin (HS-601) and match drilled the aft tab of the center rib (HS-708) to a #19 hole.
- Marked center line on both sides of the inboard center rib (HS-405) flange with a red sharpie.
- Clamped it into the assembly and match drilled the aft tab. Removed, deburred and replaced.
- Match drilled and clecoed the skin to the top of the inboard rib (HS-601 to HS-405).
