Brief Description: Check of Aileron Pulley Alignment
Drilled bottom of right wing at strut for aileron cable. Used Ron Jones' dimensions of 2 1/16"aft and 7/16" inboard of spar/skin intersect. Made template. Started with small hole. Checked several times as increased hole size. Right side came out near perfect.
Left side did not work out as well. The cable alignment on the pulley was pretty bad. Cut tacks on pulley bracket. Worked for some time trying to reposition pulley bracket with decent alignment. Finally tacked in new position. Cable alignment on pulley is OK but the clearance with the bottom longeron is too close. Looks like 1/8" control cable may rub on lower longeron. Will have to verify before moving on. Gave up for the day.
