Now that I have fought with forming the ends of the LG tubes at the attach bushings I got the best method for me on the last one. It had been suggested to cut the slits out and trims some of the diaganols out in a couple of references. May work for them, but not me. I found it best to only cut the slits out just past the point of the smoosh. This will prevent the OD of the tube increasing to far. Smoosh with heat, trim edges, repeat. Once desired shape is achieved, cut the slits the rest of the way with a angle grinder and thin cutoff wheel.
