Brief Description: Started on access panel, and top skin
I started today by cutting out an access panel to cover the access hole in the bottom skin. A tedious chore to get a consistent radius/gap between the skin and panel. After I had it pretty close, I started on the top skin. I started with a 4'X12' sheet of 032", and cut it down to 112" by 28.5" (or so). I was by myself, so had to call the father in law over to help hold the skin up while I started drilling it to the spar flange at the rib intersections. Man, that one piece top skin looks COOL. I then looked through the bottom of the wing, (rear spar) and marked the center of the rib flanges, so that I could mark hole locations, and pilot drill the skins. (pre-punch the hard way). I then spent the rest of my time drilling about 450 holes. The skin is now ready to be reinstalled, and drilled to the skeleton.
